This Month's Walk
In Issue No.16 we celebrated Wainwrights 100th year anniversary. Born in Lancashire on the 17th January 1907 he fell in love with maps and studied them passionately. He compiled his famous pictorial guides between 1952 and 1966 and altogether wrote and illustrated over 50 guide books. He died in January 1991 aged 84... but his memory still lives on.
We list Wainwright's 212 fell tops 'summits' across 7 districts of the Lake District.
